Great museum with lots of art from many different eras. We went mid afternoon on a weekday and the line was very long to get in. The museum seems to be busy all days / hours as it is a free museum. …Full review by Grace L

Yes I agree with the majority of earlier answers, you cannot go into the National Gallery before your allotted time but you can stay as long as you like afterwards until closing. It is well worth staying on, the gallery is so lovely, they have organised it really well and the art is fabulous. Enjoy!
