BOSTON — The final day of the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships has arrived, presenting a stage for athletes to shine, particularly Ilia Malinin. With the preliminary rounds concluded, anticipation builds as Malinin prepares to defend his title and assert his dominance ahead of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics.

And it didn’t take a full Olympic cycle for him to be surmounted. He remembers training with Malinin when he was just doing triples. Still, it was clear then Malinin would be landing quads soon.
