BEREA, Ohio — Jimmy Haslam, who’s been accused of listening to a homeless man in drafting Johnny Manziel, and mandating the trade for Deshaun Watson, made it clear Tuesday that he didn’t make the call on Shedeur Sanders.

Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders does not want any distractions. That is why he did not want anyone visiting him during training camp this preseason, not even family. His father, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, was told not to show up at training camp because the rookie was not where he wanted to be yet in his development.

Shortly after the Cleveland Browns traded up to take Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, multiple members of the NFL community suggested that Browns owner Jimmy Haslam essentially forced Sanders on general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski.
