CHARLOTTE, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A gas leak has closed down West Arrowood Road on Tuesday afternoon. Charlotte Fire officials said the closure is in the 1500 block of West Arrowood Road, a half-mile west of Interstate 77. Piedmont Natural Gas is at the scene with Charlotte Fire.

Marco Island Fire Rescue says the gas leak is underneath the intersection of Bald Eagle Drive and Windward Drive. It could be closed between 12-15 hours, the department says.

A gas leak has closed a major roadway in southwest Charlotte, according to Charlotte Fire. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department stated that Arrowood Road between Arrowpoint Boulevard and Microsoft Way is closed.

The Saudi Meteorological Department issued a red alert for these cities as water levels reached dangerous heights. Footage from the affected regions shows scenes of cars almost completely submerged, with only the tops of their roofs visible above the water.
