The death toll in Gaza from overnight Israeli strikes has climbed to 81, hospital officials said Wednesday.

The Israeli military said on Wednesday it conducted a "targeted" strike in the area of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip targeting an infrastructure site where weapons were stored.

The violence marked one of the most serious threats yet to the truce, which was brokered by US President Donald Trump to end the deadliest war in the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
