California Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed a more than $2.5 billion package to help the Los Angeles area recover from its recent deadly wildfires

More than 50,000 people were under evacuation orders or warnings Wednesday as a huge and fast-moving wildfire swept through rugged mountains north of Los Angeles, but fire officials said a rapid ground and air assault was giving them the upper hand.

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have sued the city of L.A. over the Palisades wildfire that destroyed their home.

Montag is one of several public figures who have questioned the city’s response to the Palisades Fire, which destroyed several celebrity homes and scorched over 23,000 acres.
