A 29-year-old woman has been held on suspicion of having a dog that was dangerously out of control, causing serious injury, after the attack on Monday evening, Cheshire Constabulary said.

A man in his 80s has been seriously injured following reports of a dog attack in Cheshire, police have said. Officers were called to reports of a dog attack at an address on Bardsley Avenue, Warrington, at around 6.40pm on Monday, Cheshire Constabulary said.

Armed officers shot and killed the dog, as well as a second suspected XL bully that was found at the address, and arrested a 29-year-old woman on suspicion of being in possession of a dog dangerously out of control causing serious injury.
