The incident, attributed to a technical malfunction during operations, also injured 66 people of various nationalities. Indian authorities are working closely with Qatari officials to provide assistance and ensure the swift repatriation of mortal remains.
The internal explosion at QatarEnergy’s Barzan gas processing facility, which supplies one of its helium sites, is now being better understood. The incident was caused by a technical malfunction during operations at a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City, one of the world’s most strategically important gas hubs.
