A magnitude 6.5 earthquake hit Papua, Indonesia, on Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey. The quake, occurring at 2:48 pm local time, had no tsunami warning or immediate damage reports and was located 200 km from Jayapura at a depth of 35 km.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located around 200 km from Abepura. However, no tsunami warning has been issued so far.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center earlier warned of waves of up to 3m (10ft) above tide level reaching the Philippine coast.

Indonesia suspends TikTok's registration over data sharing failure
The Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Digital Affairs announced Friday that it has temporarily suspended the Electronic System Operator Registration Certificate (TDPSE) of TikTok Pte. Ltd. after the platform failed to provide complete data on its live streaming activities during nationwide protests in late August.
