Vikings Pro Bowl edge rusher has been sidelined for two weeks with an undisclosed injury that has just surfaced.

Iton, a training camp standout and depth chart riser, injured his hip in Saturday’s preseason win over the Vikings. The Patriots signed Phil Lutz to fill his spot on the 90-man roster. Lutz played collegiately at Delaware and Tufts and participated in Patriots rookie minicamp.

The New England Patriots will be without the services of one of their most promising young defensive tackles for the remainder of the season.
