The National Weather Service has warned of "an increased risk" for rapid wildfire spread across New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania as Ocean County's Jones Road Fire remains only partially contained.

Fire officials in New Jersey said they are containing more and more of the wildfire burning in Ocean County. As of 8 p.m. Friday, the forest fire service said the fire is holding at more than 15,000 acres.

The fire has burned through nearly 24 square miles (15,250 acres) and is 50% contained as of Thursday evening, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
