The Michigan State Spartans have not had much success at Madison Square Garden in recent seasons. The Spartans will have to put that behind them to extend their 11-game win-streak against Rutgers on Saturday.

Michigan State basketball has not had their fair share of luck at Madison Square Garden, but on Saturday, their luck changed. The Spartans defeated Rutgers inside of MSG, 81-74. The Spartans played their type of game, and controlled the pace of play for the majority of the contest.

Freshman Jase Richardson poured in a season-high 20 points, fellow reserve Coen Carr had 14 points with eight rebounds and No. 8 Michigan State won its 12th in a row with an 81-74 result over Rutgers on Saturday afternoon in New York.
