The Seattle Mariners' rough road trip experienced another bump in a 6-4 loss against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park. Tuesday marked the return of Mariners starting pitcher Bryce Miller after more than two months on the shelf due to right elbow inflammation.

For the third time in less than a month, the Philadelphia Phillies were on the positive end of a catcher's interference call.

The Mariners have had two losses Monday and Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies, with a five-run loss Monday and being beaten by two Tuesday afternoon.

Kyle Schwarber hit his 44th home run of the season during the Phillies' game against the Mariners on Tuesday night. In the process, he broke a Philadelphia franchise record by homering in 15 consecutive series.

As ominous as things have been out here on the East Coast for them, and as particularly demoralizing as Tuesday’s 6-4 loss to the Phillies was for Seattle, give the Mariners this: They don’t sound like a team that’s lost hope.

The homer came in the Phillies' 126th game of the season. That's the same number of games it took Howard to get to 44 homers in 2006, per MLB Network's Sarah Langs. It ties the franchise record. Mike Schmidt's best total through 126 games was 39 in 1979.
