Real Madrid will slash their asking price for Arsenal target Rodrygo in the final weeks of the summer transfer window. The Brazil international’s future came under intense scrutiny during the latter stages of last season.

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has reiterated that he is “counting” on Rodrygo following yet another snub. Rodrygo was an unused substitute for Los Blancos on Tuesday night as they kicked off their 2025-26 La Liga campaign with a 1-0 win at home to 10-man Osasuna.

Despite having five substitutions at his disposal, Alonso only used four, casting further doubt over the Brazil international's future. After the game, the former Liverpool midfielder was asked why Rodrygo didn't make an appearance.
