It may have taken a little longer than usual, but the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards are finally here. Wicked star Bowen Yang and star of the Untitled Rachel Sennott Project Rachel Sennott assembled bright and early—buzzing off “three Diet Cokes, a pack of cigarettes, and one Adderall”—in Los Angeles to unveil this year’s list of nominees.

Oscar nominations were announced on Jan. 23, and as expected, there was many pleasant surprises and devastating snubs.

Actors Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards. Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Pérez,” the Netflix narco-musical about transgender identity, dominated the list with 13 nominations.

The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards are here -- and stars who received noms, including many for the first time, are sharing their excitement, surprise, and gratitude over the prestigious recognition.

The Netflix film picked up 13 Oscar nominations including best actress (Karla Sofía Gascón), best director (Jacques Audiard) and best supporting actress (Zoe Saldaña) on Thursday.

Wicked's' Ariana Grande and Cynthia Errivo were nominated by the Academy for roles in the first film installment of the Broadway musical.

Another Globe winner expected to earn an Academy Award nomination Thursday morning: Demi Moore, whose performance in the bloody body horror hit “The Substance” has stirred up a conversation on the industry’s mistreatment of women of an age. Both Moore and the film itself are expected to get nominations in the top Oscar categories.
