Team USA won their first game in the 4 Nations Face-Off 6-1 over Team Finland. After going down 1-0 early, the Americans hit the gas, blowing out the Fins in the third period. Matthew and Brady Tkachuk each scored two goals in their first professional games representing their country.

Brady Tkachuk opened the scoring for Ottawa in the first period, getting his 21st goal of the season. That tied him with his brother for goals this season — and goals in head-to-head matchups as well, giving them seven apiece in those meetings.

Team USA scored three goals in the opening four minutes of the third period to blow open a close game and pin a 6-1 loss on Finland Thursday night in the clubs’ 4 Nations Face-Off opener at Bell Centre.
