New York City’s subway system is about to see more police on its platforms and train cars as Governor Kathy Hochul ramps up security following recent violent attacks that have shaken riders.

At her State of the State address, Gov. Hochul gave a brief outline of the proposed six-month initiative that would ramp up patrols between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
