Khalil's friend, Mohsen Mahdawi, a green card holder was detained by federal agents as he arrived for a citizenship appointment Monday. Rumeysa Ozturk, a doctoral student at Tufts University, was apprehended after surveillance footage captured her walking through Somerville, Massachusetts.
