First Alert Forecast: Rain moving out Friday, as cold and cloudy weather stays a little longer
A cold and miserable start to Friday in SWLA is quickly clearing up, but sunshine will take a little longer to move in.

FIRST ALERT ACTION DAY today due to threat of significant snowfall
(KFVS) - We are issuing a First Alert Action Day for the threat of significant snowfall today. A winter storm warning is in effect for all of the Heartland through midnight tonight. Temperatures will remain around freezing until the snow begins to fall when readings will fall into the middle to upper 20s.

Snow continues through tonight. Current data has a 1 to 4 inch snow area wide by tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be blustery in some towns with a west wind at 10-20 mph. Lake effect snow showers will be in the area. Locally over 2 inches of additional snow where snow bands persist. Afternoon temperatures around 30 degrees.
