KENT COUNTY, MI ― A popular crafts store is closing 33 of its 40 stores across Michigan, including six in West Michigan. Joann Fabrics and Crafts announced Wednesday, Feb. 12, it will close roughly 530 stores out of its 800-plus locations, The Hill reported.

According to a court filing Wednesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware, the Hudson, Ohio-based company outlined more than 500 store closures out of about 800 locations across the country, including the locations in Michigan. Joann filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month, its second such filing within a year.
