Ligue 1 side Rennes signed Japanese international Kyogo Furuhashi from Celtic on Monday, with Portuguese forward Jota rejoining the Scottish champions.

Celtic have seen Kyogo Furuhasi leave for France, but had already done some business of their own, bringing Jota back to the club.

Celtic re-signed striker Jota for a fraction of his previous transfer fee, following his stint at Al-Ittihad and Rennes. The club also sold forward Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes. Jota's contract runs till 2030,

Kyogo Furuhashi has completed his transfer from Celtic to Rennes, the clubs have announced. The Japanese striker has signed for the Ligue 1 side, after completing a medical in France. Kyogo had told Celtic earlier this season of his wish to move on and find a new challenge.

Rodgers says Celtic do not want to lose Kyogo Furuhashi - who is set to join Rennes - but the Japan forward expressed a desire to leave "a number of months back". The Celtic boss paid tribute to the striker,

CELTIC HOPE TO finalise the return of Jota in the coming days as Kyogo Furuhashi moves in the other direction. The Hoops have accepted a bid from Rennes for the Japan forward but lined up the return of the Portuguese winger from the same club.
