Two dogs died after walking on the 1100 block of 19th Street, NW, and "instantly died by an unknown cause," with reports saying they were electrocuted.

A tragic incident in Northwest D.C. is raising serious safety concerns, as two dogs have reportedly died after being electrocuted on a sidewalk.

Neko Williams was walking his dog, King, near 19th and M Streets in the snow Monday evening when his pet suddenly collapsed. He said he could feel mild electrical shocks coming from the ground as he knelt to help his beloved boxer.

Ben Stearn says he saw a puppy on the sidewalk jumping up and down just before 4 p.m. Monday. At first, he thought the dog was bothered by salt on the street that road crews put down after the day’s snowstorm.
