The Boston Bruins failed to put up a concerted effort as the team’s struggles piled up in the second period leading to a 6-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning at the TD Garden on Saturday night. They are now on a two-game losing streak in their second poor showing since the trade deadline.

The Bruins entered first intermission knotted 1-1, but were outclassed in the second period, failing to register a shot on goal.

The Boston Bruins suffered one of their ugliest losses of the season against the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 15. The Bolts defeated the Original Six club by a 6-2 final score. The Bruins also failed to record a shot during the second period and finished the game with only 12.

After two good wins post-trade deadline, the Boston Bruins have now had two bad losses in their lost two. On Saturday, they lost 6-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and didn’t land a single shot on goal in a disastrous second period.
