The House Rules Committee started a marathon hearing at 1 a.m. Wednesday for the final markup of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill."

Republicans aim to unite behind Trump's spending bill despite internal disagreements over key provisions like Medicaid changes. A markup hearing for the bill ran for more than 17 hours Wednesday.

The lawmakers are racing for a July 4 deadline to have the whole package sent to Trump’s desk in time to also avoid a dangerous debt default. The Treasury Secretary has said federal tax revenues are running short and Congress needs to raise the spending limit to keep paying the bills.
