Mayor Karen Bass and newly named Chief Recovery Officer Steve Soboroff are expected to meet on Monday near the Palisades Fire zone to discuss recovery efforts. Bass and Soboroff are meeting weeks after the Palisades Fire ravaged entire neighborhoods destroying thousands of structures.

Mayor Karen Bass said no one is better equipped to create a rebuilding plan. "He knows our communities. He knows how to activate City Hall. He's been in City Hall."

Soboroff is a civic and business figure and a former president of the Los Angeles Police Commission who spent years living in the Pacific Palisades.
