Council, 23, was waived by the Philadelphia 76ers on July 25 after appearing in a team-high 72 games while producing 7.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game throughout the 2024-25 season.

Council, whose 24th birthday is Sunday, led the Sixers in games played last season. He failed to utilize that opportunity after he emerged as an intriguing rookie on a two-way contract the year prior.
