The Baldwin Park community gathered Friday to mourn Officer Samuel Riveros, who was killed after he ran into gunfire during a shootout with a suspect.

A vigil was held to honor the life of Samuel Riveros, 35, a Baldwin Park police officer who was killed in the line of duty. Over 1,000 people gathered outside Baldwin Park City Hall on Friday night, where a large memorial filled with flowers,

Baldwin Park police are asking community members to "please come and stand with us in remembrance, love, and solidarity as we reflect on his life, his service, and the impact he had on all of us."
