Our home is situated in Coola in the beautiful countryside of East Sligo. Our pitch is named Shamrock Gaels Park and is situated between the villages of Riverstown and Sooey.

Shamrock Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the east of County Sligo, Ireland, [1] including the parishes of Riverstown, Sooey, Gleann and Castlebaldwin. It was formed in March 1972 when two clubs, Sooey and Knockalassa, amalgamated.

The Gaels held a Tug-o-war in Riverstown Park with 18 teams taking part. Castlebaldwin emerged as winners in the men’s competition with Rock O’Doon runners up, while County Monaghan won the Ladies competition with Lough Arrow as runners up.

Shamrock Gaels GAA club was formed on 16th March 1972, when members of the Sooey and Knockalassa clubs came together at a meeting in Riverstown Hall. Both clubs had a long and proud tradition within the GAA in County Sligo, a tradition that stretched back to the very foundation of the Association.

Jan 5, 2005 · SHAMROCK Gaels annual Mass and AGM: The AGM of the Shamrock Gaels Club will take place next Saturday evening, January 8th, in the Clubhouse at 7.00pm.

The Bord Na Nog AGM takes place next Sunday 11th Jan at 6.00PM in the Clubhouse – we would appeal to all parents to come along to the AGM and help with the running of underage football in 2015. The Senior AGM is on Saturday 17th Jan.
