Amaryllis bulbs need NO water or soil when you first buy them this way in wax. These bulbs stored energy to be able to regrow again. After the bloom dies off: 1)Remove the wax and cut the stalks off- leave the leaves on if you have any 2)Place the bulb in a potting soil in a pot that is only about an inch larger than the diameter of the bulb and don’t cover it all the way up.
