Banana corm or rhizome is the root structure of the parent banana plant, the underground fleshy stem capable of producing multiple pups or suckers. Corm-derived suckers are cost effective in propagating banana plants as they are just available on-site. In our Cavendish banana farm rehabilitation, we prefer tissue-culture plantlets generated in sterile conditions. Now we are trying the corms, making an effort to choose the healthy ones.
