On 9/11, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronaut Frank L. Culbertson, Jr. was the only American not on the planet that fateful day. Over 200 miles above Earth - inside the International Space Station with two Russian cosmonauts - Culbertson could see smoke billowing over New York City.
