Today is a major milestone for Auckland’s rail network - trains are back up and running after a successful summer rail upgrade and CRL timetable testing. Also - the Rail Network Rebuild is finished! A huge leap forward in the lead up to the City Rail Link opening later this year. We're running a full region‑wide test of the new City Rail Link timetable — that’s 84 trains moving across the network! They’re travelling through the brand‑new underground tunnels and continuing out to the south, east, and west. These trains aren’t quite ready for passengers yet — we’re using this time to iron out any wrinkles so your future journeys are smooth, reliable, and stress‑free when we open later this year.
