Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday appointed Lillian Bonsignore as the new FDNY commissioner. Bonsignore, who was born and raised in the Bronx and is the highest-ranking uniformed woman in FDNY history, will assume the role next month when Mamdani becomes mayor.
