Purnon’s dry moat flanks three sides of the Château. The frail condition of the stone walls has been a concern to us ever since arriving at Purnon nearly 6 years ago. Last year, following the conclusion of the restoration of the roof and facades of the eastern pavilion of the Château the eastern moat walls were restored. When we arrived at Chateau de Purnon nearly 6 years ago time had taken its toll on the Château’s 250 year old roof. On the verge of collapse and at risk of loosing the Château forever it has so far taken our artisans nearly 5 years of painstaking work to restore the roof to save the Château.
